My aim is to create contemporary knitted textiles for interiors and fashion accessories. Inspiration has come from Scandinavian and Japanese artists using constructed textiles in architectural spaces.

I am excited by the use of contemporary materials such as stainless steel, monofilament and paper in what is generally perceived as a very traditional craft. My work celebrates the intrinsic qualities of knit: flexibility, elasticity, movement, and structural form.

Prior to studying textiles, (BA Hons Textiles - Manchester School of Art) I established and managed my own environmental consultancy and was awarded an MBE for Services to the Environment. The natural environment continues to be an important source of inspiration in my work. Design decisions are influenced by qualities of light, reflection and shadow found in nature and the landscape.

Indra's net is a buddhist image illustrating the interconnectedness of all things. Indra's net is a vast network of precious gems stretching to infinity. Threads bind the gems together, and each gem reflects all the other gems.
